Philips 3300 LatteGo EP3347/90 Review: Is It Right for You?

Philips 3300 LatteGo coffee machine with milk container and a selection of hot and iced drinks

The Philips 3300 Series LatteGo EP3347/90 is a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine combining an integrated ceramic grinder, automatic coffee brewing and Philips' LatteGo milk system.

Its appeal is straightforward: automatic milk drinks without the extensive speciality-drink menus found further up the range. This overview is adapted from our existing equipment review, rather than a hands-on testing report.

Why consider the Philips 3300 LatteGo?

Whole beans go into the hopper and the machine handles grinding and brewing internally. For Cappuccino and Latte Macchiato, LatteGo also handles milk frothing and dispensing. You do not need to prepare a portafilter or learn manual milk steaming.

That puts the 3300 between simpler automatic machines with manual milk frothers and higher-tier models offering larger drink menus and more personalisation.

Drink options

The existing EP3347/90 product information lists five programmed coffee recipes plus hot water:

  • Espresso
  • Coffee
  • Cappuccino
  • Latte Macchiato
  • Iced Coffee
  • Hot Water

That is six selections, not six different coffee recipes. For households that regularly make only these drinks, a larger menu may add little practical value.

The automatic LatteGo milk system

LatteGo automatically prepares and dispenses milk for compatible recipes. Its two-part container avoids conventional internal milk tubes.

Philips describes the components as cleanable in around 10 seconds under running water and dishwasher-safe. That claim concerns the milk-container components, not the complete machine. Follow the current manual for cleaning instructions.

Philips also describes LatteGo as suitable for dairy and suitable plant-based alternatives. Texture can vary with protein, fat and stabiliser content, so different oat, soya or almond products will not necessarily produce identical results.

Integrated ceramic grinder

The equipment specification lists a 275g hopper and 12 grinder settings. Beans are ground automatically for each preparation, removing the need for a separate grinder for normal use.

Those settings are for adjusting the machine's own brewing system. They do not turn it into a general-purpose grinder for cafetière or pour-over coffee.

Approach adjustments gradually and follow Philips' model-specific instructions. The existing guidance calls for adjustment while grinding and small changes at a time. Several coffees may be needed before a setting's full effect is apparent.

My Coffee Choice and pre-ground coffee

My Coffee Choice lets you personalise available recipes, including strength, drink length and milk-froth quantity where supported. It offers everyday adjustment rather than the manual dose, yield and extraction control of a traditional espresso setup.

A pre-ground coffee option can be useful for an occasional decaffeinated drink without emptying the bean hopper. Use suitable coffee and follow the dosing instructions.

Iced coffee is not cold brew

The Iced Coffee programme prepares coffee intended to be served over ice. Traditional cold brew involves a long steep in cool water. These are different preparation methods, so choose according to the drink you actually want.

Noise and SilentBrew

The 3300 incorporates SilentBrew. Our existing equipment page records Philips' claim of 40% less noise than earlier models and Quiet Mark certification. These are manufacturer claims, not measurements from our testing.

Quieter does not mean silent: grinding whole beans and running the brewing mechanism still generates sound.

Capacity and everyday upkeep

The listed capacities are a 1.8-litre water tank, 275g hopper and 0.26-litre LatteGo container. Refill frequency depends on drink size, household use and rinsing cycles, so a fixed coffees-per-fill figure would be misleading.

The removable brew group gives access for routine cleaning. Philips' guidance includes rinsing and lubrication according to its maintenance schedule; the brew group itself is not dishwasher-safe.

Milk components need cleaning after use, while the grounds container, drip tray and tank need regular attention. Automatic brewing does not remove these jobs.

AquaClean filtration

The 3300 is compatible with AquaClean filters. Philips' stated benefit of up to 5,000 cups before descaling depends on using and replacing filters as instructed. It is not a promise of maintenance-free ownership: milk parts, brew group and other components still need cleaning. Follow the machine's prompts and current manual.

Philips 3300 versus Philips 2200

The Philips 2200 EP2220/10 handles grinding and brewing but uses a manual Classic Milk Frother. If black coffee is your priority and you are happy to froth milk yourself, the simpler machine may be enough.

The 3300 adds automatic milk preparation and dedicated Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato and Iced Coffee selections. Its main advantage is convenience for regular milk-drink users.

Philips 3300 versus Philips 5400 and 5500

The 5400 offers a larger menu, listed on our existing page as 12 coffee drinks, and multiple user profiles. That can help a household with different saved preferences.

The 5500 extends the concept to 20 hot and iced recipes and additional convenience features. If your routine is already covered by the 3300's core recipes, paying for that extra variety may not help.

Philips 3300 versus De'Longhi Magnifica S

Both offer integrated grinding and automatic coffee brewing, but the Magnifica S leaves milk preparation manual. The key choice is how much automation you want: hands-on milk frothing or dedicated automatic milk recipes.

Who should buy it, and who should look elsewhere?

The 3300 is worth considering if you want whole-bean coffee without portafilter preparation, regularly drink Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato, and prefer a focused menu to dozens of recipes.

Look elsewhere if you mainly drink black coffee and do not need automatic milk, want multiple profiles and a broader menu, or specifically want manual control of espresso preparation. It is also not a substitute for a traditional cold-brew brewer.

Our take

The useful combination is integrated grinding, automatic brewing and automatic milk preparation. The decision is less about whether the 3300 has every feature and more about whether you would use the extras on a higher-tier machine.

If its core drinks cover your routine and you accept the cleaning requirements, it is a focused automatic option. Check the current model specification, package and price before buying.
